Early fire detection protects historic architecture and valuable stage sets

Fire protection is a top priority in event locations. In addition to staff, a large number of visitors from a wide variety of groups who are unfamiliar with the venue are present during performance times: from children and young people to senior citizens and groups of different cultures and languages.

In the event of a fire or evacuation, the different behavior of people combined with their lack of local knowledge can be fatal. Tripping hazards due to improperly laid cables, unclear escape routes (e.g. in the stage/decoration area) and darkened environments are also potential dangers when it comes to saving the lives of many people quickly in the event of an emergency.

In addition, theaters, opera houses and concert halls are often located in historic buildings with valuable furnishings that need to be protected from the fatal consequences of a fire. At WAGNER, we offer you specific fire protection solutions for these environments.

RISK ANALYSIS

Numerous fire risks

The greatest risks in event locations include the high number of electrical systems, possibly coupled with an outdated technical infrastructure or electrical installations behind wall paneling, other ignition sources, especially in the area of stage technology, are among the greatest risks. However, the use of fire as part of the performance and numerous highly flammable materials (fabrics / textiles, building materials and materials, stage props) are also possible sources of fire.

PROTECTION GOALS

Personal protection is critical

  • Protection of staff and visitors
  • Protection of the facility and architecture from fire-related damage caused by smoke, soot and extinguishing water
  • Prevention of consequential damage and damage to image
  • Protection of the environment

BETTER SOLUTIONS IN FIRE PROTECTION

Reliable fire protection without compromising on aesthetics

If a fire breaks out in a meeting or event location, seconds count. Seconds in which a large number of people – usually without any knowledge of the facility – have to be evacuated. The earlier a fire is detected, the faster and therefore more timely life-saving measures can be initiated.

Our highly sensitive aspirating smoke detector TITANUS® is perfect for early fire detection. They are very reliable and are immune to false alarms. Our fire detection system detects even the smallest smoke particles at a very early stage of fire development (pyrolysis) and is up to 2000 times more sensitive than conventional smoke detectors. These detectors give you the time advantage you need for timely evacuation in these applications.

TITANUS® aspirating smoke detectors can also be aesthetically integrated into the architecture. As a result, the low-noise aspirating smoke detectors do not impair the appearance or acoustics of theaters, concert halls or opera houses.
