In 2011, CNL GmbH opted for an active fire prevention system from WAGNER to comprehensively protect the high-quality cosmetic products from cosnova Beauty in the fully automated high-bay warehouse in Butzbach (Germany) from fire and its possible consequential damage. The holistic fire protection solution is completed by the earliest possible fire detection.
Highly flammable items such as nail polish remover and highly flammable cardboard packaging are stored in the fully automated high-bay warehouse. For the fire protection expert, the high demands were quickly clear: the development or spread of fire in the new warehouse must be prevented from the very start. A solution based on sprinkler technology was out of the question for CNL due to the possible consequential damage caused by fire and extinguishing agents.
CNL GmbH was founded in 2011 as a logistics company by cosnova Beauty to solve the cosmetics manufacturer's logistical challenges. CNL GmbH's large logistics building was constructed in just twelve months. The building comprises two hall areas for the storage, picking and distribution of three cosmetics brands. There is also a two-storey administration area.
RISK ANALYSIS
In modern warehouses, where goods are stored at heights of up to 40 meters in confined spaces, there is an increased risk of fire. Due to the density of goods, a fire can spread unhindered and quickly lead to a full fire due to the air drawn in and the high heat development in the warehouse. In addition, overheating and short circuits caused by electrical defects or faulty electrical components significantly increase the risk of fires breaking out.

SOLUTION
The powerful OxyReduct® fire prevention system, which works on the basis of oxygen reduction in the protected area, reduces the oxygen concentration to exactly below the specific ignition threshold of the materials present by introducing nitrogen in a controlled manner. TITANUS® aspirating smoke detectors were installed in the high-bay warehouse and in the picking and loading area for early fire detection. The solution is VdS-certified.
