Efficient firefighting with high-pressure gas extinguishing systems
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) has the best extinguishing effect of all inert gases. For many decades, it has proven to be a highly effective extinguishing gas, particularly for the protection of furnishings. It is injected into the area affected by a fire and displaces the oxygen around the source of the fire. FirExting® CO2 provides ideal protection for open or partially enclosed facilities. It does not undergo chemical reactions under typical fire scenarios, and is not electrically conductive—so it does not cause short circuits during or after the extinguishing process.
BENEFITS
Effective, residue-free fire extinguishing
Fast extinguishing, fast process restart
Extinguishing gases are not electrically conductive
The gas is stored in space-saving high-pressure tanks
Gas from the ambient air or as a by-product of technical processes; fast, cost-effective refilling
FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE
The FirExting® CO2 gas extinguishing system effectively fights a fire while protecting the building and its contents. The CO2 is stored under pressure in liquid form in the cylinders. When the extinguishing system is activated, the CO2 is released and evaporates into gas as it is released, which then displaces the oxygen and smothers the fire. As the gas is heavier than air, it creates an extinguishing zone around individual objects to ensure targeted extinguishment. FirExting® CO2 is also suitable for room protection.
